There’s no questioning that James Bond is one of the most well-known film characters of all time. With Spectre released to UK cinemas today, we've selected our favourite fashionable Bonds to share. Bond has been a style icon since his debut in the sixties, but who dressed best?

5) Starring as Bond just the once, in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, George Lazenby is the fifth star of our Best Dressed Bonds. As the #1 global male fashion model 1964-1968, Lazenby oozes classic style, with a Savile Row tailored suit and accessories such as a Rolex Submariner wristwatch. Whilst his role of Bond received mixed reviews, we think his classic British suave style makes him a timeless fashion icon.

4) Longest serving Bond actor and star of seven Bond films including 1973’s Live and Let Die and 1974’s The Man With The Golden Gun, Roger Moore comes in at fourth of our Best Dressed Bonds. Moore perfectly suits the classic Bond style of tuxedos, bow ties and of course, the ivory dinner jacket, made of silk and linen. Having the most varied wardrobe due to his lengthy Bond career, Moore is seen wearing an array of different coloured suits and patterned ties, each one looking as classically stylish as the last.

3) Often referred to as the best actor to play James Bond, Sean Connery comes in at third. No stranger to the tuxedos, Connery’s signature look was the crisp, white pleated shirt and bat-wing bow tie. Connery was also responsible for the introduction of Bond’s midnight blue dinner suit, first worn in 1962’s Dr No and continuing to appear throughout up until 2012’s Skyfall (starring Daniel Craig.) Finally, Connery’s Bond almost always wears a white linen pocket square in his jacket breast pocket. Simply stylish and a colour that goes with any coloured shirt.

2) Voted the public’s second favourite Bond after Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan just misses the top spot of our Best Dressed Bonds. The GoldenEye star was considered a huge success of the reinvention of the Bond brand since he took over the role in 1995. Brosnan’s navy suit paired with a classic white shirt and a black and gold patterned tie worn in in GoldenEye continues Moore’s Bond’s patterned tie trend. Another style Brosnan is also seen wearing regularly is a tailored overcoat, featured at least once in each of his four Bond films, ensuring he is dressed for the British weather yet still looking sleek and stylish.

1) Combining all the classic Bond attires seen so far, Daniel Craig comes in first as our Best Dressed Bond. Craig adds a modern twist to the quintessential Bond style, bringing back the ivory dinner jacket (this time designed by Tom Ford) which hasn’t been seen since Roger Moore played Bond. Another returning style pulled off perfectly by Craig, is the midnight blue dinner suit most notably worn by Sean Connery. Craig’s slim fitting suits makes his attire look modern whilst still looking classic and timeless. Patterned woven ties and linen pocket squares make Craig’s suits look polished and co-ordinated, continuing Bond’s reputation of not only best-known film character and secret agent, but also a fashion icon for years to come.
